The SMC Corporation Singapore celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special corporate dinner event at the picturesque SEA Aquarium, Resorts World Sentosa. Choosing this Oceanarium venue was the perfect way to create the desired atmosphere. By using the majestic marine life as a backdrop, SMC was able to highlight the company’s journey as well as hint at exciting future endeavours.
The event was attended by the President and CEO of SMC Corporation, Mr Yoshiki Takada and focused on thanking customers and partners for their continued support. Once guests arrived, they were treated to a fun-filled pre-event, which involved a series of photo booths in front of the famous giant fish tank. Not only could guests pose in front of exotic marine life, but instant printing features made for fun and memorable keepsakes.
A dynamic and engaging emcee spent the first half of the event chatting with guests to record special gratitude messages. These were edited on-site and played back during the course of the event, creating a unique and personal touch to the evening, further highlighting the company’s popularity.
The highlight of this special celebration was the traditional Sake Breaking Ceremony, which is not only a time-honoured event, but also emphasises the company’s roots in Singapore symbolism. The activity involved guests of honour taking centre stage to officiate various aspects of the ritual.
During this, special divers in the giant fish tank unveiled the company logo, further emphasising the deep ties SMC has to its founding legacy. The ritual was photographed and featured on SMC’s official Instagram page.
A special light show followed, with dazzling LED fairy dancers gracing the ballroom, instantly lighting up the event and creating an ethereal presence which had guests in awe. Equally entertaining was a stand-up comedian who delighted guests with jokes and funny anecdotes.
The grand finale of the evening came in the form of a lucky draw where elusive prizes were up for grabs. One of the more impressive prizes on offer is a beautifully crafted sake gift box with complementary cups. This proved to be a popular and sought-after memento to commemorate a fun-filled event.
It’s clear that the SMC 50th anniversary at the local Oceanarium was more than just a celebration of its accomplishments, but also a testament to the corporation’s dedication of its people to continue and build on future successes. Guests left with full hearts, great memories, and a renewed sense of appreciation for SMC’s legacy and future.
